Dr Erkan Demirsoy’s history with hair transplantation at his ARMAMED Clinic:

Dr Erkan Demirsoy has been performing hair transplants at ARMAMED Clinic for approximately 15 years.

He started with the FUT (strip) technique and in 2005 began using the FUE (extraction) technique,

which is regarded as the modern technique in hair transplantation. Since then, most of his hair transplants have been carried out using the FUE method.

When performing hair transplants, Dr Erkan Demirsoy carries out the FUE extraction either with a special instrument called a punch

or with a small motor called a micromotor, depending on the patient’s preference.

In English, the word “punch” here refers to a hollow needle through which the hair follicles are extracted.

Dr Erkan Demirsoy plans the hair transplant and designs and draws the frontal hairline himself,

and he also extracts the follicles and opens the channels personally.

Born in Gaziantep in 1969. Married with two sons. Studied at the Faculty of Medicine, Gaziantep University, from 1987 to 1993.

1994-1995 Compulsory service in the Turkish province of Muş.

1995-1996 Compulsory service in Pamukova.

1996-2000 Heybeliada Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital (specialisation).

2000 Began performing hair transplants at a private clinic in Istanbul.

2003 Accepted as a member of the ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery).

2004 Trained in the FUE technique by Dr Alex Ginzburg.

2004 Completed the Ministry of Health’s medical training in aesthetic practice.

2004 Founded the ARMAMED centre.
